Course objective
This course aims to introduce participants to the methodology of systematic reviews. Participants will be exposed to the various stages involved in conducting a systematic review and will have the opportunity to gain practical experience of the tasks involved at mini workshops.

Target Group
Commissioners of Research/Evaluation and Evidence Syntheses (e.g., systematic reviews, meta evaluation etc.), Public Health Specialists, Development Specialists, Clinicians, Researchers, Lecturers, Postgraduate Students, and other professionals who want to perform and/or evaluate systematic reviews.
Course delivery and course materials
The course takes a step-by-step approach to the tasks and methods involved in conducting a systematic review. A mixture of presentations and hands-on activities are used to introduce participants to major aspects of the review process. A course manual will be given to participants at the beginning of the week. Participants are encouraged to identify a topic for a systematic review that they can develop during hands-on sessions.
