Dr. Ebenezer Owusu-Addo, a Senior Research Fellow at Bureau of Integrated Rural Development  of the College of the Agriculture and Natural Resources, KNUST has been named a winner of  the 2020 Pittu Laungani best paper prize from the International Journal of Health Promotion and Education. The award was announced at the 2021 Institute of Health Promotion and Education Conference held in Coventry, UK.Â
The International Journal of Health Promotion and Education and the Taylor & Francis Group jointly award the Pittu Laungani prize to the best paper published in the International Journal of Health Promotion and Education each year. Aside from cash reward, papers that win the Pittu Laungani award are made open access for a year.
The paper led by Dr. Owusu-Addo, which is titled âFactors affecting health sector involvement in public policies addressing the social determinants of health: a critical realist case study of cash transfers in Ghana,â offers practical recommendations on how the health sector can take a more substantive role in the design, implementation, and evaluation of cash transfer programmes to optimise their impact on the social determinants of health and health inequities.Â
