On November 1st, 2023, the Bureau of Integrated Rural Development (BIRD) under the College of Agriculture and Natural Resource (CANR) at Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) a brief handing-over to usher in its new Director, Dr. (Mrs) Monica Addison.

During the ceremony, the outgoing Director, Dr. Ebenezer Owusu-Addo, expressed his gratitude to the entire staff for their support during his tenure in office. He requested that the same level of support, or perhaps even greater efforts, be provided to the new Director, all for the benefit of the Bureau. Dr. Owusu also promised to offer his assistance in guiding the new Director.

In her speech, she expressed her gratitude to the immediate past Director for his exceptional leadership during his tenure. She also pledged to work harder to ensure the continuous development of the Bureau, particularly in the institutionalization of BIRD.

Dr. Addison appreciated the insightful words of motivation and support from colleagues to drive the Bureau forward. She emphasized that she would share her vision for the Bureau with the staff in the coming days.
