On Friday 5th of November, 2021, the Bureau of Integrated Rural Development (BIRD) organized an orientation for its newly posted National Service Personnel (NSS). The orientation was chaired by the Director, Prof. (Mrs) Ernestina Fredua Antoh. Staff at present include Dr. Monica Addison, Dr. Albert Arhin, Dr. Ebenezer Owusu-Addo, Nathaniel Mensah-Odum, Rexford Kuze and the Admin. Sec., Mrs. Meg Agyarko – Nyamekye.
The program started with introductions, and Members of the Bureau took turns to provide carrer advice, opportunities and role of BIRD in nurturing and prioritizing multidisciplinary training and advisory services. Personnel were advised to be honest and professional. Prof. Fredua Antoh encouraged the personnel to be diligent and hardworking. Dr. Albert Arhin, a Research Fellow also advised them to use the national service period to build the capacity by taking advantage of the online courses and other professional development opportunities. Mr. Nathaniel Mensah-Odum, a Senior Research Assistant provided a brief overview of the content on technical and financial proposals. He also mentioned that a date for detailed training on proposal undying will be communicated to the NSS personnel
The NSS personnel were also informed on the DO’s and Don’ts within the Bureau. They were also made to write their expectations as well. Concluding the orientation, the Director officially welcomed all NSS personnel into this noble organization.
